Sorry for not posting last week. I was in early labor all week long……….
Finally, Josiah is here!
6lbs 3oz and 18 inches long born at 38 weeks, 9:01 in the morning
I was blessed with a fairly short labor, but unfortunately my epidural did not work very well. Like most Mom’s after the experience of labor and delivery, I don’t think I will be having another baby anytime soon.
But, for now Josiah and I are doing fine and the whole family is very happy.
Thanks for all of your help and support.

Sorry for the late post guys, we went out town to visit family for the Easter Holiday. How was your holiday weekend? Mine was grand! It’s always nice to see family, especially with a growing belly.
At the end of this week, Josiah will be considered full-term and my midwife says he’s in a head-down position.
Lately I’ve been having trouble eating regular-sized meals. I get a lot of heartburn. Also, I feel increased pressure in my lower abdomen, and have been peeing more frequently. It feels like I’m carrying a bowling ball between my legs!
Are any of your experience contractions yet? This is what’s called false labor. I haven’t felt any pain yet, and actually, I’m a little bit fearful of what it’s gonna feel like. They say that for first-time moms, labor can take an average of 15 -20 hours! That’s insane!
This week, I’m going to make a list of all the people I want to hear about the baby’s birth first, with phone numbers and email addresses, and I’ll pass this along to my mother who can spread the news. This way, I can just focus on resting and taking care of the baby.
Well, that’s all for now. Enjoy the rest of your week everyone!

This week, Josiah probably doesn’t have much room to maneuver around in my womb or do somersaults because he is now over 18 inches long and is a little over 5 pounds. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste. Most of his basic physical development is now complete, and he’ll spend the next few weeks putting more on weight (Oh Joy)!!!
From here on out, my midwife said I’ll be visiting her every week. During my next appointment, I’m supposed to have the Group B Streptococci (GBS) culture test done to check for the bacteria. GBS is usually harmless in adults, but if I have it and pass it on to Josiah during birth, it can cause serious complications, such as pneumonia, meningitis, or a blood infection. But don’t worry; if it turns out that I do have it, I’ll get IV antibiotics during labor, which will greatly reduce the risk of infection.
This week, I’m going to create a birth plan. It will include information like who’ll be present in the delivery room, what pain management techniques I’ll be using (an epidural), and where I want me and the baby to stay after I deliver. Actually, I plan on staying at home, and having my mother come to stay with us to help us out for a few weeks. I’m also going to purchase our birth announcements online this week and think about a diet and exercise plan for when after the baby gets here…I have to get down to my pre-birth weight Lol.
Well that’s all for this week. Take care mommies!
Until next week,
Jordan

Hey guys,
Josiah now weighs about 5 pounds and is almost 18 inches long. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. I’m getting kind of nervous because Josiah could come early…and I could have him in literally any day or week now.
By this week, I’ve been having a lot of restless nights due to frequent pee breaks, tossing and turning, and anxiety about life after the baby gets here. I also find it hard to turn over in bed, so I’ve been wearing comfy satin pajamas, the slipperiness of the satin helps me roll over Lol.
Also, my midwife has advised me not to jump up too quickly if I’ve been sitting or lying down for a long time. Blood can settle in my feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in my blood pressure and when I get up this can make me feel dizzy. Some questions I have prepared for my next appointment are: what are my chances of having a c-section? What are the reasons/ causes of a c-section? And, what should I expect during and after a c-section?
This week, I also plan on researching a few daycare centers. I will only have few weeks off from work. So, unfortunately I won’t get to be a stay at home mom Lol. Does anyone know the average costs of daycare for babies?
Well that’s all I have for this week. If you can answer any of my questions posted, your feedback is always welcome!
Until next week,
Jordan
